The Edge of Your Power

The last couple weeks have been a whirlwind of training, coaching, and development for me and my clients. This creates a powerful energy that I wish could be bottled up and kept on the shelf for a rainy day. However, we know that's not reality and we must tap into this powerful energy when we've got it in order to maximize it to its fullest potential.

Personal power is something I see small business owners struggle to keep alive every day. Why is this? Is it because they don't enjoy what they do? Do they struggle to keep the power alive because they don't have the right team around them? Has the day to day operation of the business become laborious instead of exciting and fun as it once was?

Only you can answer these questions for yourself. However, if you don't take a step back once and awhile to review where you are and what you're doing, you'll be certain to continue just going through motions for another day, week, month or year.

Get reconnected with your power! You're a leader! Whether you're a business owner, a company leader, a trainer or coach, you've got a gift that has placed you in this position of influence. Use this gift! Your power is like a fire in the night. If you don't tend to that fire it will smolder, begin to smoke, and eventually just burn out.

Don't let this happen to you! I've had the opportunity to perform some coaching in the last week side by side with both of my company leaders of my service business. As we co-facilitated some powerful changes for the people we were working with I could feel our own power ramp up within us as well. This is the blessing of recognizing your own power, and"tending to the fire." The more you give, the more you get.

Share your positive energy with those around you and you become even more powerful. I'm not talking about Julius Cesar kind of power here, this is about a true inner power that helps you become more of who you want to be, to lead better than you have before, and influence those following you at a higher level than ever before.

This is your job. You are a leader. You are a trainer. You are a coach. Pay attention to how you feel. If you're not feeling at your best, then you better figure out what's going on, and why. Your team (and the world) is counting on you. They're not asking you to be perfect, but they do want your authenticity.

I understand that it takes a certain risk to be authentic with those that you're leading and training. I've been there my friend. Years ago I had the "ShowTime" persona and attempted to be something I'm not for my audience or my team members. This is a guaranteed recipe for pain and suffering. I know this is fact because I personally experienced it.

Now, I understand and help my clients understand, that it's not about ShowTime, perfection, or being better than anyone else. Your true potential lies in your authenticity. There is so much fake out there today; Reality show TV (that is actually scripted as much as any sitcom you'll watch), politicians lying straight into the camera, Ponzi schemes that have ruined people's lives on false hope, etc.

This is your chance to shine. You've got what it takes! Perhaps you need to work on how you follow up with your team or clients more. Perhaps you need to build your confidence as a leader or a trainer in order to hold people accountable at a higher level. Perhaps you need to read more quality information on a consistent basis to feed your mind positive thoughts and energy.

Regardless of what actions you need to take, step off the edge and into your power. One of the reasons I connect with my audience so well is because I understand this power of authentic connection. You have this connection at your disposal as well, and the people who follow you are starving for it. Time to deliver!

My Best,
